Marriage License:

A marriage license is required in the State of Connecticut and can be obtained in the couple's town of residence or town where the wedding is being performed.

The couple must appear together at the Town Clerk's office to apply for the license. If they go to the Town Clerk where one of them lives, that person must present documentation proving residency (vaild driver's license, utility bill, passport etc..).      

After the wedding, the officiant must return the completed license to the town where the marriage took place by the first week of the month following the marriage.
